2009 Sep 16 05:57 (#4184.12663):I'm friends with someone who apparently has B#=1. Does that make me B#=2? No idea about E#, though. My best bet would be Parkin or through Erskine somehow.
2009 Aug 26 11:09 (#4152.12635):I see you copied that link from the AV Club's review of the latest Mad Men episode, anchor and all. Still, it's a pretty cool site.
2009 Aug 17 09:29 (#3850.12630):John Flansburgh discusses tour riders with Ira Glass on This American Life. If you don't want to listen, he basically says that it's actually a good idea to have some crazy stuff in there you can find right away (like Van Halen asking for M&Ms with all the brown ones removed) because then you'll know if they read the important stuff like having enough power and safety procedures. Or the sobriety of the local crew.
2009 Jul 21 12:48 (#4014.12611):This American Life now has a page that collects all their episodes relating to the economy, most or all of them done with the people from Planet Money.
2009 Jul 14 05:42 (#4170.12601):I'm with natedogg and nanocindy on this, although I've only lived in the north (Philly area) for 4 of the last 15 years. I always hear people in the north complain about the snow (my family is from MN/IA) but for all the trips I've made up north for holidays recently (to OH/PA/MN/IA) I haven't seen much snow. I like to believe that I can handle extreme cold a lot better than extreme heat. You can always add more layers, but there's only so much you can take off.
2009 May 20 10:44 (#4151.12554):The intersection of MoPac & 360 is pretty much a diamond, but stretched apart into a teardrop shape and with an extra ramp on the left from south on MoPac to SE on 360.
The intersection of 360 and 290/71 (and Lamar) looks like the full Y but with Lamar coming in on the side.
The intersection of MoPac and 290/71 is sort of a stacked intersection.
You can always tell how old the Google maps satellite images are by the missing highways. There's a big section of MoPac missing in the image between 290/71 and south of William Cannon Dr.
2009 Apr 23 10:25 (#4144.12536):That story was also part of an episode of This American Life. The last part of the episode is about the closing of all the Circuit City stores and is pretty good.
2009 Apr 13 09:41 (#4014.12518):I recently came across another well put together video about the whole credit crisis thing. And there's been another This American Life episode put together by the Planet Money people about banks and how they screwed things up. Also, there was a Wired article about the guy whose equation was used to justify all these crazy financial products.
2009 Mar 31 11:53 (#4134.12502):A quick survey of users 0-20, I count 6 that are inactive (posted more than a year ago) and 3 that forgot their passwords and have another account now. (Also 2 "default" accounts and 1 admin.) So that's 8 that are still active. Anyone want to check out 20-40?
2009 Mar 19 10:05 (#4125.12451):No, my second bracket is my (Mostly) Upsets bracket. I just saw in the settings that everyone was allowed 2 brackets and made a second one for myself. Feel free to disregard as it will stay at the bottom of the heap.
