not too picky at all.
it's a very good/important point you bring up. those numbers are so large that people may think "oh shit, look how much theyre going to have to pay!" when really, it points out the rather sizeable income they make to be paying that much tax.

As an aside in the "Too much information" department, the pit toilets with the footpads... You'll never evacuate as well on our toilets as you do while squatting.
Should this post come with a warning?

Austin Powers: Did you just soil yourself?
Fat Bastard: Maybe.
[laughs]
Fat Bastard: It did sound a little wet, there didn't it? Right at the end! Oooh! Heh heh heh. Let's have a smell, all right? Oh, everyone likes their own brand, don't they? Oh, this is magic! Hmmm, wafting, wafting. Ok, analysis. Ooh, smells like carrots in throw-up! Oh that could gag a maggot! I smell like hot sick... ass in a dead carcass! Even stink would say that stinks! You know when you go into an apartment building and you smell the other people's cooking on each floor and you go "What are they cookin'?" That, plus crap!

The report is correct about you having to live with your own "Brand" for a while... And anyone entering the room after may want to light a match, but really, these toilets aren't nearly as offensive as he presents. Or maybe after using a 5 gallon bucket while fishing I don't get offended nearly as much.

thanks for sharing that link Flip

so i spent 10 minutes trying to find a transcript, but failed... there was an interesting interview (i assume i heard it on npr) with stan lee regarding the development of super heroes. he wanted them to have angst and more depth than the originals. that interview may give you more insight into comic book movie plots. especially the first in a series

Yay! I've now taken this 4 times and received 4 types. In high school I was ESTP, mid-20's INFP, late 20's INTJ, and now ENFJ (22 88 38 11)...
May surprise you that I think the test is bunk. I did have profs at UT who liked it, but none of my assessment or neuropsychology profs did...
Of course, you could argue that as I've matured/aged my personality type has changed somewhat. I would argue that is not personality, and has more to do with the vagaries of my mood at the time.
It would be fun to give yall a good measure of personality (MMPI-II, or mebbe the MCMI-III) and see what we look like as a group.

I would agree that shortstops should receive a good bit of credit for overall athletecism, though the start-stop nature of baseball makes some question whether stamina is a constituent element.
I think an interesting way to think of it is "what would you encourage your child to play to achieve overall athletecism?" Basketball and soccer for cardiovascular fitness, explosive speed, extremity-eye coordination, strength, and agility seem like good recommendations. They also promote teamwork, strategy, field awareness, etc. which are part of the cognitive elements that I believe go into making a good athlete but were not emphasized.
As a neuropsychologist-in-training, i gotta say "don't do this at home (or anywhere)", but i love mixed martial arts, and those guys are phenomenal athletes. I would place their athletecism above that of boxers, which is remarkable, but i won't be encouraging anyone to participate. Unless it's the new Atari MMA UFC championships. And then I wouldn't encourage anyone to challenge Natedogg and his magic thumbs.

I think they sacrificed finding the best athletes for wide representation. That is, they have 1 from most sports rather than say multiple decathletes.
I think that also explains why sprinters are on the list. They're amazing at what they do, but it doesn't speak to their abilitities to jump, throw/catch, take a hit (1 of their criteria), etc. Also, if a sprinter is judged only on performance out of the water, why wouldn't Phelps be judged only on performance in the water? From triathlon experience, I would say it's easier for a swimmer to run than a runner to swim...

So... I can't decide if I'm assertive or a jerk, but when I get emails that I can snope, I snope 'em (in under 3 minutes). I usually get polite emails back thanking me for debunking/allaying their fears. Sometimes the response is sheepish, but I've never gotten the feeling I embarrassed or offended the person.
I very rarely forward material (the 2004 campaign would be an exception...), and if I don't appreciate what people are sending me, I can usually tell just from the email title. I delete with abandon and move on. No one seems offended that I don't respond.
A trickier topic for me is texting. I never initiate a text exchange and prefer to respond with a phone call when someone texts me. Clearly that is not appropriate text etiquette. I'll have to ask Ms. Manners about this.

Yeah, I forget how to do that linky thingy, but:

has my vote as a top contender. Forget your dead parrot high brow comedy. This is in your face, I ain't gotta think funny.
