The largest graffiti in the world, courtesy the MTA Crew, is no more. It ran most of the length along the river "bank" between the 1st St. and 4th St. bridges.
And just missed it -- the tag was removed about a month ago. It would be along the river wall, right side, in the last linked photo. Huge!
Too bad the Google Earth imagery is too old to show the tag.
For some reason I would have thought that the largest graffiti would be bigger than that. Don't get me wrong, a few blocks is impressive, but I was hoping for something on the order of a few miles.
Also, can crop circles be considered graffiti?
- Our old friend LUECKE is about 2.4 miles long
- Nazca Lines -- more here. "The largest are over 200 metres (660 ft) across."
- More Giant Figures visible from Google Earth
- ...plus a Pink Bunny
- ...and many more in these old AE threads on Google Sightseeing and Google TomPeeping
I seeeeeee........mmmmmmmmm. A correction, then: Largest Unlawful Graffiti in the World.
Which, now that I think of it, isn't graffiti definitionally unlawful?
Apparently not unlawful by definition. Just that it is "writing".
So, again, the banner should be changed to "MrFlip roo-lez, Javelina droo-lez".
Oughtn't it be the putative but singular "Largest Graffito in the World"?
So, again, again, the banner should be changed to "MrFlip roo-lez, Javelina droo-lez".
*hug*
This is also a thing.
