I wonder who this video is trying to persuade. I feel like it's heavy-handed enough to immediately turn off actual Republicans but it does warm the soul of Democrats I suppose. I kind of think that by going for "overwhelming number of stupid policies" the impact is lessened. There are enough stupid and shortsighted problems with the real Republican platform without having to resort to somewhat specious things like "separate but equal" which I'm pretty sure hasn't been on the slate for a while now.
for example:
That table's from the WaPo, so it isn't intended as propoganda, but note, at the bottom, that they list "average cut" and not "median cut." Democrats would do very well to use medians instead of averages when talking about things, sine most of the averages in these cases are heavily, heavily weighted by what's going on with the top .1% and top 1%.
Note that they do point out that the bottom three groups (those making less than $66354) account for 60% of taxpayers. So, even though Obama's average cut is only 0.3% versus McCain's cut of 2%, Obama's median cut is actually more than McCain's.
I bet you CAN guess which part of this made me give the computer screen the bird and actually made me want to vote republican!. : )
Yes far left equally annoys me as much as far right does. Welcome to my world of what I like to call, moderation.
: )
