In an effort to increase the quantity of insipid drivel in my life, I have begun listening to Radio Disney, AM 1110. As surely as the sun rises in the east, I tell you this, boys and girls; Radio Disney is seriously pummeling my brain with fifty thousand watts of Pure Awesome.
I present the following as conclusive evidence of Pure Awesome:
1) A new hit single by Raven-Symone', "Double Dutch Bus". Though a cover, it is Pure Awesome to hear Raven proclaim "The Double Dizz-utch!".
2) A quasi-cover of "We will rock you" with Goofy, Mickey Mouse and Mini Mouse doing voice overs. From 1996's "Mickey's Sports Songs", (currently unavailable) this album has a lot of staying power. We'll be hearing tracks from "Mickey's Sports Songs" over and over for several more decades.
3) More Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montanna than you can shake a cattle prod at.
Side Notes:
1) Raven. 'Nuff said.
2) Mickey's Sport Songs is out-of-print. Which makes it legal to trade non-commercial copies of the disc under fair use (me thinks). Though I can't find any copies on the intrawebz.
3) Miley/Hannah/Disney begat Pure Awesome fan vidoes. 1000000x more Pure Awesome than that Ok Go treadmill joint.
Raven-Symone' is totally awesome. You know it. Everyone knows it.
She's no Keisha Knight-Pulliam.
That double dutch bus song is cited as the inspiration for Sizznoop Dizzle's Sizzlang.
Yesszzz, thazzit what mayzziks it so gra-tezzz.
Hey, it's Milersch and Mandersch.
Another "Double Dutch Bus" sample you may remember prominently used from a few years back.
Ah, the vagaries of Euterpe, that Double Dutch Bus should become a prized perennial, bearing fruit season after season, while Haboglabotribin, finding no purchase, is consigned to sister Clio's dustbin.
the-breaks.com tells me to look to snoop dogg's first album. I think Dre found that dustbin. On the other hand, I would love to hear Hilary Duff or that chick on the saturday show about moving to the african savannah cover the song in its entirety.
