I would like to point out that AE has risen to the #2 search result for "WTF Mate? Kangaroos!."

And #9 for "wtf mate".

And to think that I had been pushing for "wft, mate? fucking kangaroos!"

I feel about as smart as a 5th grader because I watched almost all of that very same episode a few weeks ago. More highlights: She was asked to which family of musical instruments a piccolo belongs. She responded "Percussion. Because piccolo and percussion both start with 'P'."

And she's allegedly a musician.

there's a part of me that thinks the producers told her to act stupid. I really hope that's what's going on. I REALLY hope so.

Yeah, there's some people who say this is an act, like the knob at night guy (if the knob at night guy is indeed made up) or Borat or Charlie Weaver or Minnie Pearl. (This was pointed out in where I got the link from - 7/8ths the way down.) Either way it's sad and hilarious how much it rings true.

Nah, people are F&*king morons.

i'm busy studying for my nat. licensing exam, so i'll just add my clinical opinion by stating TTJ is correct

Upon watching it again, I'm more convinced that she's fake. Her accent doesn't sound real, and the line "Hungary?! I've heard of Turkey!" Is way too clever a quip for someone who has just told us that she doesn't know whether or not France is a country. Maybe she's smart but truly, willfully ignorant, but it sounds to me like she's fake. Particularly since one learns France is a country before one learns that Turkey is.

The whole presentation is just too perfect--a southern blonde who exudes confidence but is in fact a total airhead. Not to mention that the show doesn't work if the adults can answer the questions.

Since it hasn't been explicitly stated in the thread yet (although nanocindy alluded to it), this is Kellie Pickler, a losing contestant from American Idol who nonetheless seems to have a real recording career. I wonder if her whole career involves the bubblehead act.
