The PBS folks at Wired Science take a stab at stopping the clone hate. Long live Blackrose!
Yeah saw that one too. Totally sucked about Steve Earnhart's Mohican cell line. Once in a while we'll have a cell line that just won't work, can't ever seem to get good animals out of the cell line. That's one of our biggest research areas, looking at the shitty cell lines vs the good ones. The Mohican cell line they talk about in that article is the poster child of that. Cloned the other pig he wanted, no problems, but his Mohican cell line was craptastic. To this day if you say "Mohican" around here to any of the lab folks, they shiver. : (
