How long does beer last?
Let's say that you've got some beer, like, in your fridge. And that it has been there a while. Like, more than a month. Like, more than a couple months. But it's been kept cold the whole time. Like, it was actually purchased in December, 2004. But it is good beer. Premium. Double Cream Stout. So good that you never quite got around to drinking it. Too good for casual swilling. Special-occasion-only beer. And now it is now. And you don't want to throw it out. Because that six-pack was, like, $12 plus deposit. What do you do?

Yeah, I did some googling, too. Lots of wankers. Google is all about Wanker Value right now.
Yeah, I know a month is no problem. Three months? Also no problem. And keeping it cold is important.
But really. Life > 2 yrs? Possible? UnPossible? It contains alcohol, so as long as the bottle stays well sealed it should be good for long time, yes?
And, really. It's Double Cream Stout. I don't want to just toss it. I think I'll drink it, then.
Well its not going to hurt you. Its already fermented so what else could happen. I once drank a Sugar Free (not diet mind you) Dr Pepper from 1978 and I lived. This was in 2000. It might taste bad, but whatever. I think you should bring that stuff to HH100 to celebrate afterward.
Some answers: It looks like generally you're looking at a 4 month period. 5 months could be ok for some ales and up to 12 months for higher alcohol content beers. Some tips for buying fresh beer.
Oooo... here's an idea, f***tard: you could stop relying so much on the interwebs and crack open a bottle and smell and taste a little of it yourself. Or is that too much effort?

I've got a few bottles of Franziskaner Hefeweizen from an event in my fridge so I am also interested in the answer to this question.
I suspect that unless it is truly horribly off I wouldn't even notice. A google search turns up 1000 wankers that say "it lasts until I get to your house har har har!!!" and anecdotes about beer in extreme situations that ended up being terrible. But it seems like you are well safe drinking it in under a month but that depends on whether it's in a colored glass bottle etc etc.
