Premiere Magazine has a great list of 20 Films Not Coming Soon to a Theater Near You. Some of these films have been in development hell even with such excellent source material as books by Chabon, Eggers, and Toole. On the other hand, some of these movies were made (as in completed!) by the staff of The Onion and star Steven Seagal as a character named "Cock Puncher."
According to his fans, through his manager, Keanu Reeves won't be in Watchmen. If you look at the comments, he is filming Night Watch next, which has a lot of his fans confused since the titles both contain the word "Watch."
It is also confusing to his non-fans since that movie is not an American remake of the Russian vampire flick...
Apparently Night Watch got changed from The Night Watchman to avoid confusion to Watchmen, but not with the aforementioned Nochnoy dozor or Nightwatch or Night Watch.
When I first heard the name I thought (second after Nochnoy Dozor) that it was a remake of the classic Michael Keaton morgue comedy Night Shift.
Man, there were a few surprises on that list. Confederacy of Dunces! But why would they remake Hands on a Hard Body? The original was so awesome and it might lose that if not a documentary. I also don't know about SB as wonderwoman. Highly suspect, I think.
Keanu Reeves is kindof a theme running thru these movies, huh? When I think "Who could replace Russell Crowe here" for any given movie his name springs immediately to mind.
* I'd rather A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius never come to screen than that it do so starring the most over-rated actor of our generation.
* That Dreyfus Affair movie looked awesome... but I'd rather see a movie about the Dreyfus Affair.
* [spoiler alert, ish] Did you notice how this film had only two stars listed, and one of them was neither of the people in the title? There's a running theme here: actors won't play gay. (Look what it did to Heath Ledger!)

In related development hell news, John Cusack wants to be in Watchmen, to be directed by 300's Zach Snyder. Jude Law and Keanu Reeves are already kinda sorta confirmed.
