Map out your travels. Trying to decide where to take your next vacation? Why not use a personalized map of where you've already been?
(Mine is close to a negative of the red/blue political maps, with a lot of red on the coasts and not so much in the middle.) Also available on a global basis.
(Not counting states that I have been in only because of the airport. These are the states in which I've actually mucked about.)
I didn't include any of the ones I've pretty much just driven through (all the blank ones east of the Mississippi). There are ones I've been in for more than it takes to drive across them.
Wow, way to go TWitB! Which state was your favorite?
Mmmmm, ya gotta love 'em all!
How do you decide between the Smokies and the Canyon? Glacier National Park and Kodiak?
Every state I've lived in I've really enjoyed, although I haven't had a chance to really get to know Alabama.
If forced, I'd have to say Alaska tho. You know, if you cut Alaska in half, Texas would be the 3rd largest state in the union? >:)
ugh, we need a group world map.
when I think of all the money spent on travel and my world map covers such a little amount of area, I get a little bummed...
I'm totally jealous of Mr. Flip's Russian escapades. Look at all that area covered, and think of all the fun vodka drinking in the Hermitage!
No one's been to SAmerica or Australia?!
My contributions to the group world map: US, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Bahamas, U.K., Germany, Russia, Finland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. And Germany.
Mr. Habcous has been to China and Mexico.
soku studied abroad for a whole year in Australia and spent significant time in New Zealand.
Group map:
What'd I miss?
Well, if those lowland countries in northern europe are the netherlands and/or belgium then I can offer my only non North American journey to satisfy that (also TWIT-B has 'em seeing red).
Doncarluloutoo have been to a wedding in Norway. KarmicBlasphemy has some arabian peninsula and some northern africa there.
I've been to Ireland, so you could add that.
I'll contribute Costa Rica.
yeah, i forgot that i've been to norway for approximately 8 hours as well.
(my second germany should have been a norway)
i can add cyprus, isreal, jordan, syria, belize, and guatemala
no s american voyageurs?? ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oooh, karmicblasphemey has suadi arabia and libya listed in red. oil worker??
if mrflip is still updating a group map, he can toss in Brazil, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and the Benelux countries for me (yes, Luxembourg rocks... it's like a whole toy country :-)). I think everywhere else i've been has been covered.
I am surprised a certain country in South America is not in red in the group map. I will be interested to know how many countries the Alkaline Earth community can fill up.

Although they don't even tint a single pixel, two AE'ers recently enjoyed a honeymoon in the Virgin Islands.
I'm quite surprised if none of us has ever been to Prague.
Yep, natedogg's right, apparently I can't read a map without boundaries -- I can also chalk up Puerto Rico, Czech Rep (technically Czechoslovakia (from where i was almost deported to Vietnam?!), but i never made it to the slovak side), and Taiwan, but am absolutely no help with any part of Africa.
add san marino, vatican city, switzerland, and cayman islands for me.
You should probably leave off that last one, soku, lest everyone finds out about your shady banking dealings...
i can back up the swiss, czech, and vatican city explorations.
i bought a train ticket and spent 2 hours in slovakia. does that count? =)
i can also the highest place i've ever sailed: nepal
oi, i'm listed as having been to poland, but i ain't never had the honor.
however, i do know a member of ae has been there, i just dunno his handle 'round here and don't think he checks in often
If it's the potential member I'm thinking of, he's willfully refused to obtain a handle 'round here.

hmmm... that global link doesn't work. Sorry about that -- correct address is here. At least it was working last night; now I'm at work with a shaky connection, so I can't verify anything.
