I've actually heard of mine: Jive Talkin' by the Bee Gees.

OK, I'm an idiot. I think everyone under 40 knows this song, but I didn't know it was called Pick Up The Pieces.

Wow, this thing *is* addictive. I just went through each of my birthdays to see if I knew the song. I missed out on 1979, 2004 and 2005, which surprised me since I thought that I would do better on those more recent. I was also alarmed to know that "London Bridges" by Fergie was number 1 for my birthday in 2006.

(And I didn't know it was called "Pick up the Pieces" either.)

Three Times a Lady, which is kind of cool because I've always been a fan of the expression "three kinds of fine."

I also remember Eddie Murphy singing this as Buckwheat.

I wasn't born in Saginaw

Unhappily, my UK birthday song was "You're the One That I Want" from Grease. However, apparently soku and I were meant to be because her UK birthday song was "Summer Nights".

On a related note, did you realize there will soon be a reality show where they choose a cast for Grease on Broadway? Off-handedly, I cannot think of a way to put together a show that I would enjoy less without the use of clowns, country music, or creationism.

I lucked into the unstoppable funk classic MFSB by True Sound of Philadelphia (feat. the Three Degrees). January I never heard of, but I knew Pick up the Pieces by Average White Band -- it's on the Swinger's Soundtrack. Maybe I won't be a total fucking liability in the World Series of Pop Culture.

Would someone please translate Ben's comment re: Sir Duke and being born in Saginaw?

US: Captain and Tenille - Love Will Keep Us Together
UK: 10cc - I'm Not in Love

"Sir Duke" was, apparently, #1 on the US charts on the day of my birth. I was born in MI, but not in Saginaw like Mr. Wonder. Duh.

That doesn't clear up anything for me. Who is Mr. Wonder?

He invented Wonder Bread, reverse osmosis desalination and the Foley catheter.

I Love a Rainy Night - Eddie Rabbitt
never heard of it

Ha Pino, you must have been born about the same time as my wife.

As for me, I got in the US "The day Chicago Died" which is....OK. Congrats ms cegenation on getting a good funky hit...

US: Best of My Love - Eagles
UK: January - Pilot

And I must say that I never pegged the Captain and Tenille to top any charts. Must have missed their VH1 Behind the Music.
