Update.
We transfered him to UC Davis last night. The neurologists were very pessimistic about his case but were willing to try. He had an exam today to test some brain functionality and while it was weak, it was there and the dr. was surprised. He is undergoing an MRI right now and we are anxious and worried since he has to be under anesthesia for that process. Waffle's state right now is very coma like: he breathes on his own and responds to stimulus (ear tickling, paw grabbing), but his pupils are huge and unresponsive to light. His only physical injury is a broken upper jaw. His coma-like state could also be a bad reaction to anesthesia. Thus the MRI is worrying, but it's worth the risk considering the gain. He is young and healthy and a wonderful cat. We are hoping for the best. Thanks for sharing the stories and for the good thoughts.

Good luck to Waffles, I hope you get better soon! Annie (cat), Carston (cat), Molly (dog that loves cats), Buddy (old cat), Carl and I will all be thinking of him, poor kitty.
