H. R. 3920 - A bill to allow Congress to reverse the judgments of the United States Supreme Court.
I saw this a few months ago on Metafilter. The discussion there is okay, with most people dismissing it out of hand as DOA. Some people posted links to the remarks on the senate floor which seem to show the bill's roots in the anti-gay-marriage controversy, although apparently Robert Bork tried this years ago, but as an amendment.
how fucking scary. after all, the point of the judiciary branch is to protect the minority from the whims of the majority. which is what congress would undo...

So the bill would enable Congress to reverse a judgement "to the extent that judgment concerns the constitutionality of an Act of Congress." So if the Supreme Court says an Act of Congress is unconstitutional, Congress can override that?! That's unconstitutional right there! If it passes and the Court judges it unconstitutional, can Congress use the Act itself to override the judgement upon it? Fucking politics.
Also, it's called the "Congressional Accountability for Judicial Activism Act of 2004". Some conservatives must be upset that the Supreme Court is actually making rulings! <gasp!>
