And you thought no one who works at a high school makes money... Interesting Salon article about football coaches' salaries in Texas, drawing from a Statesman article. (You have to watch an ad to read it - anyone know how to bypass that?)
I read salon too much, but realized that I could load:

By accident, I read that in the statesman and was blown away. a few things of note:
1. Average salary for 4A/5A football coach is above average professor salary in business or physics.
2. Many of these highly paid ($70-80k) coaches do not even win much. For some schools, the cost to win (considering only the head coach's salary!) was $20-30k per game. ouch!!!
