I find it strange that the average number of hits to any one of my pictures on flickr averages about 10 or so, yet this picture has managed to rack up over 1000 hits. I had no idea how popular a crappy picture flip, becky, and jo could be.
No kidding though -- this is a really good picture. Also, did you add the google maps link yourself, or does your camera embed GPS info?
I wonder if the 1000 hit picture randomly showed up on the Flickr homepage. That's the only explanation I can think of.
I added the google maps thing manually because someone asked in a comment where the pictures were taken. Would defenitely be cool if my camera was GPS enabled. I can see that as being a cool future feature for cameras. Would be pretty cool if the flickr people added a map location feature to the service to make it a little bit easier to add location info.
I don't see why that picture should end up anywhere interesting, it's pretty crappy compared to the awesome shit that shows up in flickr.
You know, I think flip's doing something to increase his ratings. Check out the several hundred views on his picture. I guess he's just got a shitload of friends out there.
Actually, I think the "porn" tag he used probably helped that one out.
Thanks for reminding me of that picture. I had forgotten, but it was burned in my brain and has now been called up again. You suck. :)
