Is it just me or does anyone else not "get" this post? I guess I was looking for information about burning jets in the training manual but maybe it's so much deeper than that, man. Like, random connections and shit.

Oh, damn. Forgot to link to the "main point" of the post. Here it is...

Now, it's just "you".

" "

I just thought you were being "deep" or "meta" or "impenetrable" but now it all makes sense.

Looks like you better hope somebody brought a buzzsaw and is calm enough or the plane is oriented well enough that they can use it...

Speaking of things that are interesting but possibly not click-on-a-pdf-and-launch-acrobat interesting, here is The Pain, The Pain: Modelling Music Information Behavior and the Songs We Hate [PDF].

The paper presents a grounded theory analysis of 395
user responses to the survey question, “What is the worst song ever?” Important factors uncovered include: lyric quality, the “earworm” effect, voice quality, the influence of associated music videos, over-exposure, perceptions of pretentiousness, and associations with unpleasant personal experiences.

Obscure but seminal work by other leading researchers was not credited, although an important early field report of an earworm was

Awesome post and it gives me a good excuse to try out the keyboard on the new macbook here at the San Francisco Apple store. I have to say the keyboard feels really nice even though it's a little bit different than what they used to put out. These 13" macbooks are pretty friggin' sweet I have to say. I think I might have to ditch the tablet PC here in a little while.

Man, I really like how easy it is to get around here in SF by foot.

Actually rescue squads do carry all that crap, except for the special canopy unlocking tool (which the manual gives a dimensioned drawing for!) . But really, this manual is most likely primarily for military airport rescue personell. Anywhere else a stealth goes down, the pilot would most likley eject or the plane would be too badly destroyed. I think the only way you would have one "crash" is such a way that it was upright and fairly intact is a landing incident (blown tire causing skid, landing gear collapse etc.) or the pilot themselves is actually injured from combat or other.
