The fine peoples over at the Austinist have a nice little write-up about dining at Mekong River Restaurant on 6th Street.
As pointed out in the article's comments, the restaurant's tragically low health inspection scores encourage me not to eat there. But the possibility of seeing 'exotic' fauna and being abused by the waitstaff compels me to dine there as soon as possible. Fo'reels, yo.

I've eaten there a few times with no real problems. The food's a relatively good value and tasty ta' boot.
I would like to add that I say: "wtf, mate? fucking kangaroos" all of the time.

PS That's because you asses demanded fucking retarded categories such as "Another Farking Repost" (used once, in the original announcement) and "WTF Mate? Kangaroos!" (Weird apparently wasn't good enough), henceforth to be known as categories 15 and 16. And you can't just get rid of or rename those categories 15 and 16 because the few posts tagged with those numbers would be miscategorized in the future. And you can't keep adding categories all the damn time because MetaPhilter (and sanity) has/have a limit that mrflip would have to circumvent somehow because I don't know/care to learn the coding necessary to increase that limit.
Now I'll have to be more wary about sixth street food in general with the very dark Casino el Camino among them. Though the food was good, I've heard tales of rodent infestations downtown from several different places now...
