First Night Austin. As discussed over dinner, and over at Austinist. "Street corners transform into galleries, storefronts into stages. A festival of art, imagination and creativity spreads across downtown Austin."
The basic timeline is: artsy stuff until 5:15pm, a "Grand Procession" (it's a parade!) from 5:30 - 6:30, then more artsy stuff from 6:30 until midnight-ish. Here are the schedule breakdowns:
From 2:00pm to 5:30pm
From 6:30pm to Midnight
Check out all that cool stuff! Breakdancing at the Frost Bank Tower at 4pm, Taiko Drummers at One Congress Plaza, O'Henry storytelling at City Hall, Djembabes Drums, Steel Drums, Improvisational Motion!
I'll be volunteering at City Hall from ~2pm until 5pm, then with Barna Kantor @ One American Center (600 Congress Ave.) from 7:30pm to 9pm.
