Humanity and I both say: Oh shit, nanoCindy beat us to the punch. I thought of exactly that article after reading the first sentence.
On a practical note, do people really think these killer dolphins have their poison dart harnesses on full time in the water? It must be a bitch to get it on and off of them but would you want to keep them armed at all times even during a hurricane? It's not like they didn't have time to lock down...
On an even more practical note--we have atomic weapons, sonar, radar, imaging technology I don't even know about, and a wide variety of underwater weapons and delivery systems, and we're training damn dolphins to be our weapons? The army is bizarre.
Just shows you how far a lot of the sensing and AI technologies still have to go. Do you find it bizarre that we used trained dogs to sniff for explosives and narcotics?
I don't find that bizarre but I will give the bizarre tag to finding land mines by using bees and a frickin' laser beam.
