His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Speak at UT on September 20, 2005 (tix @ 7am Sept. 6).
Who do you think is coming to speak? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. Tickets for the September 20, 2005 public talk will be distributed at two locations in Austin, Texas beginning Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 7:00 a.m.
Tickets for the general public will be available at the Frank Erwin Center box office. There will be 3,150 tickets for the general public at this location.
Tickets for University of Texas at Austin students, faculty and staff will be available at the Texas Union Student Events Center box office. There will be 8,000 tickets for the university community at this location. UT Austin ID will be required to obtain tickets.
All tickets to the public talk are free and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. We will not be able to maintain a mailing list, mail out tickets, reserve tickets, maintain a waiting list or distribute tickets in blocks. The limit is two tickets per person. One audience member will be selected to caddy for the Lama later that weekend. So you got that goin' for ya, which is nice.
All seating is festival seating. The number of tickets distributed will equal the number of seats available, and no one will be admitted to the public talk without a ticket.
