A friend of mine from college is into civil engineering and architechture (read: he likes skyscrapers). His dad was a civil engineer and gets a magazine called Civil Engineering (available online through UT). The April issue had a few articles about Texas including one about highway 130 which is being built to bypass Austin. (The huge interchange being built on I-35 up in Pflugerville is the northern end.)
SH 130 is part of the Central Texas Tollway System which has some Texas voters up in arms. I know mrflip is a big fan of their efforts.
The SH 130 page has a lot of information about the project that I had wondered about, so check it out.
The Civil Engineering article is pretty interesting, if you like to hear about more of the business side of the project. I'd put a link to it, but the PDF file is huge (108 MB), so you'll have to find it yourself or get it directly from me somehow.
