Every once in a while I'll try to find as many versions of some song as possible -- like Ring of Fire (Cash, Blondie, Dylan, Dick Dale, Skatalites, Social D, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra) or Impossible Dream (Sammy Davis Jr, Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Elvis, Luther Vandross, Ray Conniff, Original Cast). It's interesting to see how each artist puts their signature on a well-known tune. But what would you say to 32 versions of "Ghost Riders in the Sky" or 100 versions of "Besame Mucho" or 250 versions of "House of the Rising Sun"?
I think that the Texas Ex led band did the best "Summertime". No surprise that Billie Hoiday's rendition was pretty sweet too.
Let's necro this post by adding more than 300 versions of Popcorn.

Another collection, with "Summertime", "Pop Corn", and "Mammy Blue."
