When I drove to Ann Arbor and back in Nov. and Dec. last year, I wondered what was going on with these stations, who was behind them and whether they were a PR front for the "Pat Bobberson" and the ACLJ. I think I listened to five or six different Bob/Jack stations on that trip. I tried to find out some info about them at that time, but Google didn't provide any answers. Thanks, Mr. Flip.

I actually like to listen to Bob here in Awstan. I got to the point where I wore out my desire to hear 101x (thanks clock radio) and KVRX/KOOP is too often people yapping for me to count on it. Thus, Bob has actually moved to the top of the list when I'm looking for a radio station (i.e. when I forget to bring my Rio Karma in the car). I thank Melanie for tuning in to it right from the beginning and telling me all about it.

I suspected that the format was a way for super-companies like Sinclair and Clear Channel to homogenize their networks and at the same time pay less for on-air talent. Ever since I read about the not-that-live Carson Daly radio show I just expect everything I hear to be re-processed. But I have to say I don't have a problem with robot DJ's because (like one of the links says) it does make it seem like there is more music and less ads and DJ banter is too inane anyway.

Jack is here in Las Vegas. Its syndicated with NO DJs.
