Sorted, for each day, by how much I'd like to see that particular show; a few acts are repeating from last year. And by the way, my friend from high school's college roomate's intern's boyfriend is opening for Robert Plant.
Also: Films!
- The Aristocrats
- Sinus does Xanadu
- Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room
- The Devil and Daniel Johnston
I would strongly recommend Kathleen Edwards, playing thursday at Carribean lights to anyone
Flip, looks like you found some day show links. J-Church featuring David "guitar god" DiDonato, my old roommate, is a good time. The temporary residence showcase will be good, but not to everyone's liking. Check out the website and find the free mp3's hosted before shelling out the money. Also, locals The Sword will be shreading more than one show this year, as will Those Peabodys. And the emos annex, jr. and main are in this order: the parking lot across red river, the inside, and the outside.
mrbun sez:
"hey what's up?
i'll be coming into austin next week and staying for the whole film
fest. i'll probably be doing movies the whole time, maybe i can skip
some times to get away from the dark theaters. i haven't really
studied the schedule that much yet. friday afternoon next week anyone
interested in some disc golf?"
Oh. also, the OXES are back, and performing somewhere this SXSW. best live show, ever
Speaking of movies, which we sort of only were, the closing of Alamo Downtown is at least 2.5 years away. When the lease expires, the rent will jump and the Leagues say they only want to own and manage two theaters (those being S. Lamar and Village, the others are franchises). Sad, but at least now I have a latest possible graduation date.
On the positive side, next Tuesday @ 5:30 marks the (free) South Lamar Grand Opening with local personalities, wine and cheese, and tours of the theater. I'm interested on the off chance that they let the public tour the projection rooms and the kitchens. I always wondered what they looked like.

By the way, now there are three Emo's: Annex, Jr., and Main? Is Emo's:Minneapolis featuring Johnny Drama and Don Johnson opening soon?
