Stop, collaborate, and listen - a few interesting stories here but the best is Rob van Winkel's:
As for music and my place in it, maybe things are changing a little bit. I know this: a good song is deeper than a tattoo. It'll remind you of the car you're driving and the girl you're going around with and the streets you're cruising. It's better than a photo album. A song is a tattoo that you never lose. Ice, Ice Baby, man, you'll remember that when you're 90.
Word to your mother.
I prefer that "Havin' a Roni" be etched into my mind instead.
Sidenote: Once some buddies of mine and I were shooting hoops in my driveway. We must have been 12 or 13. But there were about 4 of us all playing kind of rough and talking shit. Anyway, at some point Jeff McGrath, my teammate and best friend, does a pretty sweet-ass reverse layup. While I, after such a smooth feat, might have made a "pissing in your eye" comment, Jeff decies to stand in the middle of the driveway, and do his Vanilla Ice "Ice, Ice, Baby" impression,
Jeff: Alright, stop! GRAB A RAKE, and listen.
Oh, the hysterics. See, Jeff really thought that was the line. It took him a few verses before he realized why we were all rolling on the pavement laughing.
To this day I cannot think of that song without seeing the image of Adam Shenker holding a rake and doing is best impression of Jeff doing his best impression of Vanilla Ice. Good times. "Too cold. Too cold."

He's right man, I know quite a few people who will go to the grave with that song etched in their head. I'm not one of them...
