Meet Temple Grandin - autistic and animal scientist, inventor of the squeeze machine and the stairway to heaven and slaughterhouse designer, who loves cattle so much she's finding humane ways to kill them efficiently.
she wrote an autobiographical book
Thinking in Pictures which my roomate (the one whom flip worships because of her bookshelves, or rather, their contents) thought was rather interesting. she (not the roomate, but Dr. Grandin) is also, i believe, the first autistic to get a PhD.
