I get a lot of forwards from family members and a fair share of them are sort of subtly pro-Bush in their message. Things such as: a real soldier on the ground in Iraq blames media for not showing it like it is (ie. supposedly good and improving), or stuff about how we should be proud to be Americans yadda yadda. I usually go to Snopes and find out that they're not real or not entirely truthful and get to gleefully email back a factual response.
Anyway, today I received a link to this flash movie (don't worry, it's not a virus or anything) which would seem to have elements that would get your typical conservative up in arms (see: sprout sub with tofu sides). Then if you click "take action" you find out that it is (surprise!) a movie created by the ACLU! I don't think I need to mail back a response this time...
i noticed it was slow loading this morning, i wonder how far and wide it's been passed around.
so, i actually pissed my mom off pretty badly one time because she sent around a fairly racist "list of observations" purportedly from andy rooney. i replied to her that i didn't want to get these anymore. then, because i can't do something halfassed, i looked it up on snopes and copied and pasted that link along with excerpts from an angry andy rooney (for the lazy who won'T look up the link) and group replied to all 50 on the list (the nuclear option). she hasn't included me on any of those anymore.
