How people count cash around the world. For some reason this kind of knowledge is endlessly fascinating to me. Why wouldn't the manipulation of paper bills evolve differently the world over? (from cyn-c)

As we left the movie night, some of us got to witness a little bit of Le Parkour action from the restless locals. I thought "how silly" and walked on but a phone conversation kept me from getting into my car immediately. Good thing, too, because I got to witness the magic of Campus Parkour Family Circus.

How to completely dupe most Salon readers(req. subs.)... Garrison Keillor write a seemingly nostalgic piece about the good old days, before gays, people of color and pizza. People take it seriously. [more inside]

When you've been defrauded of your very expensive ship, what recourse do you have to get it back from whatever tropical island it's been docked at? Why, you call the repo man. Then you let him bribe officials, get the coast guard drunk, and get witch doctors to curse the only areas nearby that get cell phone reception. Simple.

This could only happen to a Bryn Mawr student. I feel bad for her, but damn, I can't stop laughing!

TV jewelry better watch its back. I had an internal struggle about whether to post this. It combines two things that I love: angry kitties and grillz. However, it is also a repost from Fark and I didn't want to be lame. Inevitably, I succumbed to the lure of the grillz.

We were talking a little bit last night about the microclimate in the bay area and yesterday's heat wave was a perfect example. It was 87 degrees in San Francisco yesterday while just about 30-40 miles away in Livermore across the bay it was a balmy 115 degrees out. Crazy...

Saw this dude riding down S. 1st street on a scooter with a sidecar today with one girl behind him and one in the sidecar. Had no clue that a scooter could handle it or that they're actually mass producing these things. The one I saw looks like the picture in the extended description. [more inside]

I find it strange that the average number of hits to any one of my pictures on flickr averages about 10 or so, yet this picture has managed to rack up over 1000 hits. I had no idea how popular a crappy picture flip, becky, and jo could be.

I was watching Conan tonight, and he made a reference to Mr. Gropinator himself doing Japanese commercials. I thought, YouTube has to help me here. And yes, for your viewing pleasure, here are several of these gems.
this one is my personal favorite.
Booey, booey, Arnold.
Booey, booey, indeed.
Oh, and he's also polling below 50%, and looks vulnerable to the right opponent. May I suggest using one of these as a campaign commercial?

Was anyone else aware that A&E was televising a Rock-Paper-Scissors World Championship? According to the video clip, one guy doing this---makes wanking motion with one hand---will win $50,000 and a place in history. I can't believe that with that kind of scratch on the line wiepooh's $4.99 Half-Price Books Super Buy doesn't excite him all that much. I think he just isn't trying.
